PBL

Positive Behaviour Intervention and Supports

What is PBL?

One of the advances in school-wide discipline is the emphasis on school-wide systems of support that include proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. A continuum of positive behavior support for all students within John Warby Public School is implemented in areas including the classroom and non-classroom settings (such as hallways, canteen and restrooms). Attention is focused on creating and sustaining school-wide  systems of support that improve lifestyle results (personal, health, social, family, work, recreation) for all children and youth by making targeted behaviors less effective, efficient, and relevant, and desired behavior more functional.

PBL At John Warby Public School

Here at John Warby Public school we use PBIS as a whole school approach, creating a school environment where appropriate behaviour is explicitly taught, acknowledged and rewarded.

All students, staff and visitors need to follow the our school's matrix . This Matrix guides the management of student behaviour within the school community and explicitly sets out what the school's expectations are so we all can be safe, respectful learners at John Warby Public School.
